Mastercard South Africa seeks a Digital Payments Product Manager to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of digital payment solutions in South Africa, shaping product strategy, roadmap and execution to meet the evolving needs of merchants, banks and consumers.

This role collaborates with engineering, design, risk, compliance and sales to deliver secure, user-friendly payment experiences and drive adoption of contactless, mobile wallets and QR-code payments while adhering to regulatory standards and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science or related field; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of product management experience in digital payments or fintech.
• Experience working in regulated financial environments and launching payment products in SA or comparable markets.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for digital payment solutions in South Africa.
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis and stakeholder interviews to identify customer pain points and growth opportunities.
• Prioritize features based on business impact, user value and feasibility.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, risk and compliance to deliver high-quality releases on schedule.
• Develop business cases, pricing models and go-to-market strategies to drive adoption and revenue.
• Monitor product metrics, gather user feedback and iterate to improve the user experience.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and Mastercard policies.
• Represent the product in partner meetings, industry conferences and customer workshops.
