Job summary

Truworths is seeking a skilled Patternmaker in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role focuses on producing production-ready patterns for ladieswear, both by traditional methods and automated systems such as Gerber or Lectra.

You will translate merchandiser/designer briefs into patterns, collaborate with design and sample teams, and guide machinists on garment construction and alterations for cost-effective production.

Qualifications

• Broad exposure to pattern making for all ladieswear products.
• Experience in automated pattern systems (Gerber or Lectra).
• Fast-paced, high-volume production environment experience.
• Fluent communication with design and sample teams.

Responsibilities

• Create traditional hard-copy patterns and production-ready patterns.
• Translate designer briefs into final patterns and samples.
• Instruct machinists on technical make-up points.
• Collaborate with design, sample room and buyers on fit and changes.
• Advise on technical queries and fabric combinations.
