Job summary

WILDCAT in Cape Town is seeking a hands-on Fashion Production Coordinator to drive garment development and production from concept to bulk. You will manage CADs, production sheets, fabric/trims sourcing, supplier liaison and quality control on-site in Parklands.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of garment construction, pattern making and apparel manufacturing, with strong organisation and initiative to support multiple products and collections.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Fashion Design, Clothing Production, Fashion Production Management or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 1+ years' experience within the fashion/apparel industry, preferably in production or product development.
• Good practical understanding of garment construction, pattern making, fabrics, trims and apparel manufacturing.
• Comfortable working with garment CADs and production specifications.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication with suppliers and CMTs.
• Cape Town based and able to work full-time on-site in Parklands.

We are looking for a hands-on Fashion Production Coordinator to assist with and coordinate the development and production of our clothing ranges from initial concept through to finished product.

This is a Cape Town-based, full-time, on-site position. Applicants must have practical knowledge of fashion design, garment construction and apparel production. General manufacturing or factory production experience without fashion/apparel experience will not be considered relevant for this role.

The ideal candidate has a good understanding of how garments are developed and constructed and is comfortable working across multiple areas of the production process, including CADs, production sheets, fabric and trim sourcing, sampling, supplier communication, production coordination and quality control.

• Maintain records of fabric, trim and component orders for current and upcoming production.
• Coordinate garment sampling and product development.
• Liaise with CMTs, printers, fabric suppliers, trim suppliers and other production partners.
• Follow up on production timelines and ensure garments move efficiently through each stage of production.
• Identify and assist in resolving production issues or delays.
• Conduct garment fittings and quality checks.
• Complete quality assessments on samples and finished production.
• Ensure garments meet required fit, construction and quality standards.
• Assist with sourcing and developing new fabrics, colours, trims and product ideas.
• Conduct relevant fashion, activewear and market trend research.
• Help maintain an organised production workflow across multiple products and collections.

Requirements

• Qualification in Fashion Design, Clothing Production, Fashion Production Management or another closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 1+ years' experience within the fashion/apparel industry, preferably in production or product development.
• Good practical understanding of garment construction, pattern making, fabrics, trims and apparel manufacturing.
• Comfortable working with garment CADs and production specifications.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and confidence liaising with suppliers and CMTs.
• Able to manage and follow up on multiple garments, suppliers and production stages at the same time.
• Proactive and comfortable taking initiative.
• Must be Cape Town based and able to work full-time on-site in Parklands.
