Patient Services Manager

Location: South Africa

Type: Permanent | Healthcare Management

Role Overview: Lead patient services to ensure operational excellence and high-quality healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all aspects of patient services, including admissions, billing, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
  2. Lead and coordinate patient services operations to support quality, compliance, staff development, and financial performance.
  3. Ensure billing accuracy, staff management, and adherence to healthcare regulations.
  4. Drive continuous improvement and transformation initiatives.

Key Duties:

  1. Oversee patient admissions, billing, and case management teams.
  2. Ensure compliance with funder rules, audit protocols, and clinical coding standards.
  3. Promote customer care and enhance service quality metrics.
  4. Lead recruitment, performance management, and staff training.
  5. Manage stakeholder relationships and internal communications.
  6. Monitor cash flow, billing accuracy, and account submissions.
  7. Participate in governance, audit, and risk management activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Nursing qualification (Registered Nurse – Degree or Diploma).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in private healthcare with leadership exposure.
  • Experience in case management and coding.
  • Knowledge of healthcare funders, policies, and patient services processes.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and billing cycles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; ICD / CPT coding knowledge is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
