Job summary

Surry Community College is seeking a Part-Time Science Coach to support science courses and LMS pages. The role involves helping students by appointment, both in person and virtually, under the supervision of the Dean of Instructional Support and the Division Chair – Sciences.

Applicants should be proficient in science andragogy, capable of synchronous and asynchronous work, and able to support students with course-related tasks and tutoring records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; excellent knowledge of mathematics.
• Experience supporting students with academic and learning support or related experience.
• Must be able to travel to college campuses and centers; able to work in virtual environments.

Responsibilities

• Meet with students to help them complete course-related work.
• Maintain documentation on courses tutored and submit records to the Dean of Instructional Support.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Instructional Support and Division Chair – Sciences.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
