Job summary

BrightStart Caledon Family Centre is seeking a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) for a part-time contract through December 2026, 20–26 hours per week including evenings and Saturdays. The role involves planning and delivering developmentally appropriate programs for children from birth to 6 years, while supporting families with resources and referrals.

The successful candidate will have Ontario ECE registration, a minimum of 3 years’ related experience, and be proficient in MS Office

Qualifications

• Must be registered Early Childhood Educator in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role is an asset.
• Experience in emergent programs guided by ELECT and How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years.
• First Aid and CPR-C certification is required.
• Experience delivering adult workshops and group facilitation is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate programs for birth to 6 years.
• Deliver in-person, outdoor, and virtual learning experiences.
• Adapt activities for equitable participation and accessibility.
• Model active listening, coaching, and supportive interactions with parents/caregivers.
• Maintain a welcoming, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Facilitate self-regulation and resilience in children through guided activities.
• Engage families with evidence-based resources and referrals.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with health protocols.
• Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and volunteers.
• Complete administrative tasks and participate in events and fundraising.
