Job summary

Dante Personnel seeks a seasoned citrus packhouse manager to lead line managers, supervisors and seasonal labour during peak periods. The role requires a strong operations background in citrus packhouse environments, with a focus on production planning, quality, traceability and regulatory compliance.

You should hold a relevant tertiary qualification, Grade 12, and fluent Afrikaans and English, with at least five years of management experience.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.

• Tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Production, Operations Management, or related field advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Minimum 5 years management experience in a citrus packhouse environment.
• Strong understanding of citrus packhouse operations, production planning, and market requirements.
• Knowledge of fruit quality, traceability, food safety and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading line managers, supervisors and seasonal labour.
• Budgeting, cost control and productivity management experience.
• Proficiency with packhouse systems, grading equipment and computer applications.
• Strong planning, organizational, problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements in agricultural/production/industrial settings.
• Hands-on, accountable and willing to work flexible hours during peak periods.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English.

• Grade 12
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Production, Operations Management, or a related field will be advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years proven management experience in a citrus packhouse environment
• Strong understanding of citrus packhouse operations, production planning, and local and export market requirements
• Sound knowledge of fruit quality, traceability, food safety and applicable regulatory and certification requirements
• Proven ability to lead line managers, supervisors, and seasonal labour teams
• Commercially and numerically strong, with experience in budgeting, cost control, and productivity management
• Proficient in packhouse systems, technology, grading equipment, and computer applications
• Strong planning, organisational, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills
• Working knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements within an agricultural, production, or industrial environment
• Hands-on, accountable, and willing to work flexible hours during peak operational periods
• Fluent in Afrikaans and Englis
