Job summary

Macsteel Tube & Pipe is seeking a reliable Operator Warehouse (Shunter) for Mac City - Elandsfontein. This physically active role covers receiving, storing, and moving material across gantries and bays, using cranes, forklifts, and side loaders.

You will scan stock movements in SAP, perform daily equipment checks, and ensure safe slinging practices and inspections. The position also includes night shift responsibilities, weighing trucks, strapping and labelling loads, and completing truck

Qualifications

• Physically active role requiring accurate material handling.
• Experience operating cranes, forklifts and side loaders.
• Knowledge of SAP warehouse software.

Job description

Macsteel Tube & Pipe is looking for a reliable and hands-on Operator Warehouse (Shunter) to join our team at Mac City - Elandsfontein. This is a physically active, fast-paced role at the heart of our warehouse operations, where you'll be responsible for receiving, storing, and moving material accurately and safely across all gantries and bays on site — from checking deliveries against supplier notes, to picking, packing, strapping, and loading stock for customers and inter-branch deliveries.

You will operate cranes, forklifts, and side loaders to move tubing, sheets, valves, fittings, flanges, and structural steel, while scanning stock movements and maintaining accurate records in SAP. Safety is central to this role: daily equipment checks, correct slinging practices, and routine inspections are all part of keeping the warehouse running smoothly and safely. The role also includes night shift responsibilities, including weighing trucks in and out, strapping and labelling loads, and completing truck inspections.
