ABOUT WESSELS

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world\'s manganese. This position is based at our Wessels Mine which represents one of the largest manganese reserves in South Africa.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As an Operator Making Safe, you will be responsible for making the working area safe after blasting operations.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Make area safe prior to loading and hauling (watering down).
• Make safe workplaces by means of barring.
• Examine and make safe main access roads.
• Pump water using a Submersible De-watering Pump.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have relevant experience in a mining operation.

Qualifications for this role are:

• Serious contenders will grade 12/grade 10 (internal candidates) with relevant experience in a mining operation.
• Competency B Certificate is advantageous.
• Valid Code 08 Driver’s license is essential.
