Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager - Earthmoving Equipment to join their Johannesburg team,
- Manage theoverall performance of Parts, Service, and Product Support
- Set andmonitor revenue, gross profit, and customer support targets
- Identifyopportunities to grow aftermarket sales and retain customers
- Ensuresignificant customer or equipment support issues are resolved
- Overseeworkshop and field service performance through the responsible Managers
- Monitorproductivity, work in progress, turnaround times, and job closure
- Promoteplanned maintenance and reduce repeat repairs
- Support theteam with escalated operational or technical matters
- OverseeParts performance and stock availability through the Parts team
- Monitorsales, stock levels, lost sales, and slow-moving inventory
- Ensurestock controls are in place, and that working capital is managed responsibly
- Supportsupplier and OEM discussions where escalation is required
- Maintainoversight of key customer, OEM, technical, and warranty matters
- Coordinatesupport between Parts, Service, Technical teams, and OEMs when required
- Ensurecritical breakdowns and recurring issues are escalated and resolved
- Monitorwarranty claims and OEM support at a management level
- Takemanagement responsibility for approved operational budgets and targets
- Reviewrevenue, gross profit, costs, and profitability with the relevant managers
- Requirecorrective action plans where budget or KPI performance is below target
- Provideoversight rather than managing routine day-to-day activities
- Providedirection and support to the managers responsible for Parts, Service, andProduct Support
- Set cleardepartmental expectations linked to budgets and KPIs
- Review teamperformance, capability, and resource requirements with the responsiblemanagers
- Becomeinvolved in employee relations matters, development, and succession planningwhen management input is required
Requirements
- Grade12
- Diploma orDegree in Business Management, Engineering, Operations Management, Supply ChainManagement, Commercial Management, or a related field
- Red SealTrade Qualification highly advantageous
- Minimum 8years' experience within the heavy equipment, construction equipment, miningequipment, or related aftermarket environment
- Minimum 5years' experience in a management position overseeing Parts, Service, ProductSupport, or Aftermarket operations
- Demonstratedresponsibility for P&L, operational budgets, and departmental profitability
- Strongunderstanding of workshop operations, parts management, inventory control, andcustomer support
- Experienceworking with OEMs, warranty administration, and service excellence initiatives
- Demonstratedability to lead managers and drive operational improvements across multiplelocations
