Job summary

2Roads Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take overall responsibility for day-to-day operations across one of its entities. You will drive performance, manage finances from budgeting to invoicing, and ensure client satisfaction while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role reports to EXCO and the Chairman, requiring a hands‑on leader with strong commercial acumen and technical understanding, and willingness to travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years' operations experience, with 3+ in a management role.
• Experience in inspection, NDT, engineering or technical services environment preferred.
• Budgets and P&L accountability with executive reporting experience.
• Knowledge ofPressure Equipment Regulations and AIA/SANAS accreditation advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations, resource planning, scheduling and service delivery.
• Oversee finances: budgets, cost control, invoicing, cash flow and monthly performance vs budget.
• Liaise with clients, build strong relationships and resolve escalations.
• Conduct site visits to monitor quality, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and present operational and financial reports to EXCO and Chairman.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, QMS and health & safety requirements.
• Lead and develop the operational team and support client growth.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Operations Manager to take overall responsibility for the business's day-to-day operations and to drive its performance and growth for one of our entities within the group, which provides integrity and inspection services, including Approved Inspection Authority (AIA) services, to clients across a range of industries.

Reporting to EXCO and the Chairman, the successful candidate will ensure that services are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably, in line with client, quality and regulatory requirements. The role oversees the company's finances, from budgeting and cost control to invoicing and cash flow, and serves as the primary point of contact for clients. Regular site visits, leading the operational team and accurate reporting to EXCO are key parts of the role. The role suits a hands‑on leader who combines strong commercial acumen with sound technical understanding and a commitment to service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the organisation's day-to-day operations, including resource planning, scheduling and service delivery.
• Oversee the business’s finances, including budgets, cost control, invoicing, cash flow and monthly performance against budget.
• Act as the primary point of liaison for clients, building strong relationships and resolving escalations.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor work quality, safety and compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present operational and financial reports to EXCO and the Chairman.
• Ensure operations comply with applicable legislation, quality management systems and health and safety requirements.
• Lead, develop and manage the performance of the operational team, and support growth with new and existing clients.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory), Operations Management or Business Management (Advantageous).

Experience

• Minimum 5 years' operations experience, including at least 3 years in a management role.
• Experience in an inspection, NDT, engineering or technical services environment.
• Proven accountability for budgets and P&L, with experience reporting at executive or board level.
• Knowledge of the Pressure Equipment Regulations and AIA / SANAS accreditation requirements will be advantageous.

• Strong commercial and financial acumen, with a structured, analytical approach and high attention to detail.
• Client-focused leader with strong relationship management and people management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including report writing and presenting to senior stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of quality management systems and applicable health and safety legislation.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly to client sites.
