Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in operations, logistics or supply chain.
• Hands-on importing from Asia with freight forwarders and customs.
• Experience distributing to national retail chains or multi-site networks.
• Strong stock control and planning skills; comfortable with spreadsheets.
• Experience managing suppliers and retail head offices.
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle.
• Willingness to undergo credit and criminal checks.
• Nice to have: tertiary qualification.
• Nice to have: consumer electronics or POS hardware experience.

Responsabilités

• Manage offshore manufacturer in Asia including production schedules, order volumes and quality.
• Forecast stock needs for large repeat orders.
• Oversee shipping, freight forwarding and customs clearance, and track timelines and landed costs.
• Plan distribution to national retail partners, including store allocation and rollout schedules.
• Run stock control for surplus and replenishment, and plan storage for bulk stock.
• Manage online order fulfilment and the logistics for in-market activations.
• Find opportunities to bring outsourced logistics in-house, and build processes that scale.
• Report on stock levels, shipments and costs to the founder.
• Support HR as the team grows, including interviews and onboarding.

The role

You'll make sure every Tappy product gets from our manufacturer to our customers on time and on budget. You'll own the whole supply chain, from production in Asia through shipping and customs to rollout at retail partners across South Africa. As we grow, you'll also help build our operations function and bring more of it in-house.

The role is based onsite in Johannesburg North, and hybrid flexibility can be earned over time.

What you'll do
