Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Operations & Client Liaison Officer - Finance to join their Paarl, Western Cape Team
- Monitorlocal and international foreign exchange markets
- Prepare and distribute daily foreign exchange rates and market updates toclients and internal stakeholders
- Conduct basic market research and analysis on currencies, economic indicatorsand market movements
- Monitor factors affecting exchange rates, including interest rates, inflation,economic data and geopolitical developments
- Provide factual market information and operational support to clients andinternal stakeholders
- Identify and communicate relevant market developments and potential tradingopportunities to the appropriate manager/trader
- Support the execution of foreign exchange transactions in accordance withapproved mandates, procedures and authorisations
- Ensure transactions are accurately captured and recorded
- Monitor executed trades through to settlement
- Receive and process authorised trade instructions
- Support the execution of FX transactions in accordance with company procedures
- Capture trades accurately onto the company system
- Verify trade details, including currency, amount, exchange rate, value dateand counterparty
- Monitor outstanding trades and settlements
- Liaise with banking partners regarding trade confirmations, payments andsettlement requirements
- Investigate and escalate failed, delayed or incorrect settlements
- Maintain complete and accurate trade documentation
- Assist with daily reconciliation of trades
- Ensure settlement-related issues are resolved within agreed service levels
- Process incoming and outgoing international payments
- Liaise with banks and financial institutions regarding payment instructionsand transaction queries
- Assist clients with FX, banking, payment, card and transaction-related queries
- Provide accurate information regarding rates, fees, limits and applicable products
- Support FICA and AML compliance processes
Requirements
- Grade12
- Minimum2 years’ relevant experience in the finance / banking industry
- Experiencewith foreign exchange markets, currency movements and exchange ratefundamentals and basic money market concepts
- Knowledgeof basic trading and settlement concepts
- Knowledgeof international and cross border payment processes
- Regulatoryand compliance knowledge such as FICA and AML principles
- Experiencewith systems such as Paradigm, Beeswax, Xero, Intellimali, Paymentology orZendesk will be an advantage
