You will monitor fluid properties, analyze performance data, and collaborate with geologists and engineers to optimize wellbore stability and hydrocarbon recovery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years as a Drilling Fluids Engineer in Oil & Gas.
• Proven experience with water-based, oil-based, and synthetic-based fluids.
• Strong knowledge of drilling hydraulics, rheology, and cementing principles.
• Familiarity with API RP 13B and industry best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities for on-site collaboration.
• Willingness to relocate for projects in Tembisa, Gauteng or other sites.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Relevant certifications in drilling fluids technology are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage drilling fluid programs tailored to well plans and geology.
• Monitor drilling fluid properties and adjust as needed.
• Ensure drilling fluid systems meet safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Analyze fluid performance data and recommend optimizations.
• Troubleshoot issues like lost circulation and wellbore instability.
• Supervise and train mud engineers and field personnel.
• Maintain records of fluid properties, treatments, and performance.
• Collaborate with drilling engineers and geologists on formation evaluation.
• Manage inventory and procurement of drilling fluid additives and equipment.
• Conduct post-well analysis and prepare comprehensive reports.
