Placements24 is seeking a Drilling Fluids Engineer for our client in the Oil & Gas sector, based in Tembisa, Gauteng. This role supports offshore and onshore drilling operations, focusing on designing and optimizing drilling fluid systems to boost efficiency and wellbore stability.

You will conduct laboratory testing, tailor fluid formulations, troubleshoot downhole issues, manage materials, and collaborate with drilling teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience as a Drilling Fluids Engineer in Oil & Gas.
• Knowledge of drilling fluid systems (water-based, oil-based, synthetic-based).

Responsibilities

• Design, supervise, and manage drilling fluid programs for various operations.
• Conduct laboratory testing and analyze drilling fluid properties.
• Optimize formulations to meet geology and operations requirements.
• Troubleshoot downhole drilling fluid issues and implement fixes.
• Manage materials, inventory, and procurement of additives.
• Collaborate with drilling engineers, geologists, and rig crews.
