Job summary

ACG Growth Partners™ is recruiting a Junior Commercial Underwriter for an established short-term insurance brokerage in Benoni, Gauteng. This on-site, full-time role reports to a portfolio manager and offers exposure to a broad commercial book, including mid-sized clients and larger corporates.

Key duties include assessing new commercial insurance business, analysing risk information, preparing quotations and negotiating terms with insurers and clients.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) required.
• Strong analytical skills and risk assessment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Computer proficiency with standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate new commercial insurance business with the portfolio manager.
• Analyse risk information and prepare quotations.
• Negotiate terms with insurers and clients.
• Ensure that policies are structured to meet client needs.
• Renew and endorse policies.
• Follow up on unpaid premiums and recommend cover adjustments.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Support the portfolio manager in day-to-day portfolio operations.
• Stay up to date with industry changes, regulatory requirements and market developments.
