Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Infant Care Specialist in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal to provide direct care for infants 0–18 months in a nurturing on-site setting. You will support development through sensory, motor, and social activities, while maintaining a safe, clean environment and strong communication with families.

Qualifications

• Experience working with infants in a professional setting.
• Knowledge of infant health, safety and development.
• First Aid and infant CPR certification.
• Understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
• Patience, warmth and genuine affection for young children.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision for infants 0–18 months, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Attend to babies' basic needs including feeding, diapering and comforting with sensitivity.
• Implement age-appropriate play activities to stimulate cognitive, motor and sensory development.
• Maintain a clean, safe infant environment adhering to health and sanitation standards.
• Observe and document infant development and milestones; communicate with parents and colleagues.
• Develop warm relationships with infants and families to foster security and partnership.
• Follow individual feeding and sleep schedules per parents’ instructions.
• Collaborate with childcare team to ensure consistent, high-quality infant care.
• Respond calmly to emergencies and participate in staff meetings and training.
