Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Plumbing & Pipefitting Specialist for on-site work across project sites in the Tembisa, Gauteng area. You will install, maintain and repair piping systems for steam, water, gas and chemicals, reading blueprints, fabricating and welding to exact specifications.

The role demands safety-conscious, reliable tradespeople with 5+ years of proven experience. You should be able to work independently or with others on demanding industrial sites and have access to

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an Industrial Plumber or Pipefitter.
• Reading and interpreting industrial blueprints and technical drawings is required.
• Knowledge of piping materials, fittings and joining techniques (welding, threading, soldering).
• Experience with steam, hydraulic, pneumatic and process piping is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair industrial piping systems including high-pressure lines.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics and specs to determine layout and materials.
• Fabricate, assemble and weld pipe sections per project requirements.
• Inspect piping systems to detect leaks, wear or damage.
• Repair and replace faulty piping components and fixtures.
• Ensure installations and repairs comply with safety codes and standards.
• Operate and maintain pipe-related tools such as cutters, threading machines and welding equipment.
• Test piping systems for leaks and proper functionality before commissioning.
• Adhere to site safety regulations and protocols.
• Collaborate with other trades and site personnel to complete projects.
