Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join our team in Midrand. You will be the primary on-site contact for installations, maintenance, and technical support, ensuring clients’ equipment operates reliably and safely.

You will diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, perform preventative maintenance, and maintain detailed service logs while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role in Installation & Maintenance.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems relevant to the industry.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform expert installations of new equipment according to technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, both mechanical and electrical, in a timely manner.
• Provide on-site technical support and guidance to clients, ensuring their operational needs are met.
• Maintain detailed service logs, inventory records, and client interaction reports using company software.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company policies during all site visits and service calls.
