Job summary

Dante Personnel seeks an experienced Farm Manager to oversee grove operations, cultivation, pest control and irrigation. You will manage staff, maintenance, records and harvest coordination to deliver olives to the processing facility.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in farm management, knowledge of olive oil processing and strong English/Afrikaans communication. Farm operations expertise and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate is required.
• 5+ years experience as Farm Manager.
• Knowledge of crops growth, diseases, olive tree planting.
• Experience with harvesting techniques (manual and machine).
• Pest identification and pesticide application experience.
• Experience in managing irrigation systems.
• Strong business management with mathematical and strategic planning skills.
• Proven managerial and leadership abilities.
• Ability to manage and develop human resources.
• Knowledge of olive oil processing is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
• Computer literacy (MS Office, internet, Outlook).
• Experience in farm management and relevant agricultural operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee grove management including cultivation, pest control, fertilizer application, pruning and irrigation.
• Manage maintenance of farm vehicles, tractors and equipment.
• Supervise farm operations and upkeep of buildings, fences and hygiene.
• Manage staff attendance, schedules and disciplinary hearings.
• Maintain detailed records of farm activities inc. pest control, orchard maintenance, harvesting and oil production.
• Coordinate harvesting operations, quality control and delivery of olives to the factory.
• Oversee bottling plant operations and communicate with Financial Manager and owner.
• Prepare regular reports on operational activities and performance.
