Job summary

Ntice Sourcing Solutions in Durban is seeking an experienced Ocean Import Clearing & Forwarding Controller to join a high-volume logistics team in Mobeni. You will independently manage a portfolio of 50-60 shipments, handling end-to-end ocean import activities from pre-alert to delivery and invoicing.

The role requires strong practical knowledge of ocean import processes, capability to liaise with shipping lines, customs brokers, and clients, and a proven track record in NAVIS or similar

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years hands‑on Ocean Import Clearing & Forwarding experience.
• Proven experience managing a high-volume shipment portfolio.
• Strong understanding of full Ocean Import process from A-Z.
• Forwarding and Clearing experience essential; not just coordination.
• Experience with Bills of Lading and NAVIS/CargoWise systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 50-60 Ocean Import shipments, Clearing and Forwarding end‑to‑end.
• Coordinate bookings, pre-alerts, documents and shipment coordination.
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, brokers and clients.
• Review invoices, packing lists, BLs and release documents for customs submission.
• Ensure accuracy of shipment data and KPI compliance in forwarding system.
• Monitor vessel ETAs, costs, and regulatory inspections where applicable.
• Provide proactive status updates and maintain strong client relations.
