Job summary

Department of Health in Gauteng invites applications for the HOD: Student Affairs, Counselling and Development at Gauteng College of Nursing (Rahima Moosa Campus). The role requires extensive nursing education experience and SANC registration.

You will oversee student services, develop support programs and manage staff and budgets. The successful candidate will drive educational initiatives, ensure alignment with CHE/SANC standards, and improve learning experiences for postgraduate diploma

Qualifications

• Nursing qualification with SANC registration to practice as a Professional Nurse/Midwife/Accoucheur.
• Post-basic qualification in Nursing Education and/or Nursing Administration.
• Moderator and Assessor certificates are required.
• Extensive experience in Nursing Education and student affairs.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise Student Affairs, Development and Counselling departments.
• Plan, implement and manage Student Affairs and counselling activities.
• Provide personal, social, academic and administrative guidance.
• Determine postgraduate diploma students’ needs and advocate actions.
• Develop budgets and monitor reporting systems; ensure accreditation processes.
• Oversee student recruitment, admissions, and graduation events.
