Job summary

Lesedi Nuclear Services Pty. Ltd. seeks a Mechanical Engineer/Technologist to deliver compliant, cost-effective engineering designs through tender to handover. You'll ensure outputs meet codes, standards and client needs, while supporting proposals, procurement, commissioning and handover.

Key focus areas include design calculations, risk management, interface with multidisciplinary teams, and technical leadership to EITs and junior engineers within the EMP framework.

Qualifications

• Sc./ BEng /BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer/Technologist with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa).
• Recognised or authorised Safety Evaluator status preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant mechanical design experience in the nuclear sector.
• Experience in nuclear safety screenings, evaluations and safety case development.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering calculations, drawings, datasheets and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and client requirements.
• Interface with Project Engineering, Procurement, Cost Control and SHEQ teams on design requirements.
• Review material specifications and procurement documents for nuclear applications.
• Provide technical support to site teams and assist with commissioning activities.
