Job summary

An automotive manufacturer in Centurion is seeking an NSA Product Manager to develop product strategies and lead marketing initiatives across Africa. The role requires 5-8 years of relevant experience and a degree in Marketing or Engineering. Overview

POSITION/TITLE : NSA Product Manager

GRADE : EVP-6

DIVISION : Marketing

PURPOSE / DETAILS OF THE JOB

CMM function is designed to develop Product strategy, leading product launching plan, follow up on execution and leading marketing initiatives and efforts to drive business KPIs (Profit, Vol, MS%, OaO, etc.). It’s the focal point for Product knowledge and strategy cadence.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s Diploma OR Degree in Marketing / Engineering and or relevant qualification

Relevant Experience

5 - 8 years of experience in business operations and marketing, preferred experience in Product MKT, Product planning, Sales planning, or MI.

Key Performance Areas
  1. Lineup Strategy Management: Manage MTP M&S input for the coming 5 years (volumes, share, profit, S&M expenses incentives, etc.). Define product lineup deficiencies and future risks and report to [V] requirements and risks. Define/ recommend future opportunities for introducing Nissan products and localization opportunities. Manage M&S input in Industrial strategy feasibility studies & present business case. Cascade recent RBU markets’ updates and study future technology adaptation with advanced & CCL product planning teams (e.g., EV readiness study, Connectivity, Autonomous driving).
  2. Product Milestones Management: Lead discussion of product milestones for all African markets and align with internal stakeholders (MKTG GM, Sales, MD…), Regional Marketing, Segment Product Planning team & Program team (OPD). Act as consultants/ RBU brain for Product planning functions in early milestones (Pre-concept, concept, Profile). Manage all milestones starting KKJ/Contract → MPR → PMM & LCP. Robust Volume and Market share proposal with ambition. Product spec and End Items management to suit different RBU markets’ positioning & customer needs (Competitive analysis → Spec list debrief → Grade walk management → PVC development → Define Spec deficiency). Define product role in lineup. Propose life cycle volume, VME, FMI and positioning plan. Attend & Represent RBU in PRA meeting with CMM Regional Director and Product & Pricing VP to secure milestone approval.
  3. Launch Management: Develop the competitive marketing strategy for all African markets and lead implementation of prelaunch, Launch & post-launch activities with all relevant internal/external stakeholders (Aftersales, MZK, Sales, SCM, COMM, Marcom, etc.). Lead coordination of launch activities through cross-functional launch team approach (Local Cross functional team). Organize and present Launch status to AMIEO launch steering committee and escalate Launch road blocks to AMIEO functional heads. Create the Go-to-market strategy, detailing Marketing and sales tactics. Be the source of expert knowledge and promoter of launching model towards internal/external stakeholders (employees, media, partners, dealers). Define positioning and target customer. Develop the strategic brief covering key USPs and customer benefits. Contribute to Marcom brief with product-related aspects while presenting to the agency the overall product strategy. Follow up campaign development, proofread all assets and implementation (ATL/BTL). Analyze and cascade End of campaign report to AMIEO CMM management.
  4. Performance Management: Contribute to BP M&S assumptions and periodically compare performance with BP & Milestone commitment for whole Africa (Day to day management): Performance (Vol, market share, price trend); Competitiveness (TPVA); Demand trend (TIV, share movement); Competitors’ actions. VME proposal for managed products with Marketing coordination manager. Develop Action plan to Realign with BP & Milestones commitment. Validate all product communication assets (Digital, campaigns, website, brochures, etc.).
  5. Product Lifecycle Management: Negotiate and align with Advance Product Planning team, Regional Marketing, Segment Product Planning team, Finance & Program team (OPD) for a healthy lifecycle for the product in different African markets, aiming to deliver one product event per year. Lead lifecycle management activity of the product ensuring sustainable competitiveness across the product lifecycle: Customer voice/market trend analysis; Competitors’ product action & forecast; Business case study, PPSR issuance and aligning with relevant stakeholders.
