Placements24 is seeking a proactive Network Infrastructure Technician to manage and maintain the company's communication networks from the Polokwane hub, supporting the Polokwane region. The role involves deployment, configuration, and ongoing support of network hardware to ensure high availability and optimal performance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless APs, strong TCP/IP skills, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Network Technician or Network Administrator.
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and topologies.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors.
• Proficiency in network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Certs such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA or equivalent are desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless APs.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues using diagnostic tools.
• Perform regular network maintenance, including software updates and security patching.
• Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and threats.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps accurately.
• Respond to network alerts and incidents, providing timely resolution to minimize service disruption.
