Job summary

Watershed Consulting in Sandton, Johannesburg, seeks an experienced .NET Solution Architect for an on-site subcontractor role. 8 hours per day, with a six-month contract and potential renewal. All background checks must be cleared prior to engagement.

Rate: R850/hr including margin. Lead analysis and design of technology solutions, architect cloud-native solutions on Azure, and coordinate virtual teams and external suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
• Proven experience as solutions/enterprise architect delivering complex, scalable systems.
• Experience with Azure and Azure Well-Architected principles.
• Experience integrating on-prem, COTS and SaaS across diverse landscapes.
• Ability to work with stakeholders to define requirements and manage technical debt.

.NET Solution Architect

Description

We are seeking an experienced .NET Solution Architect to join a team in Sandton, Johannesburg. This is an on-site subcontractor role (work from office mandatory, 8 hours per day). Contract rate: R850/hr including your margin. Duration: 6 months with potential renewal. All background checks and clearances must be completed and clear prior to engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, analysis and design for technology solutions that align with business goals, capabilities and outcomes.
• Develop and maintain 'as-is' and 'to-be' solution models covering systems, applications, processes, information and shared services.
• Design solutions for high availability, scalability and resilience, including architecting for failure and disaster tolerance.
• Define integration approaches across a diverse ecosystem of on-prem applications, COTS and SaaS systems.
• Architect cloud-native and cloud-enabled solutions on Azure, applying best practices and governance standards.
• Coach and enable engineering teams through knowledge sharing, pairing, mentoring and presentations.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to shape requirements, highlight technical debt and propose pragmatic remediation paths.
• Collaborate with groups of architects to ensure solution alignment with enterprise strategy, standards and frameworks.
• Support adoption of lean and agile delivery practices and DevOps ways of working.
• Manage and coordinate virtual teams and external suppliers where required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience, or proven track record in similar roles.
• Proven experience as a solutions or enterprise architect delivering complex, scalable systems.
• Experience with cloud architecture on Azure and applying Azure Well-Architected principles.
• Demonstrated experience integrating on-prem, COTS and SaaS applications across heterogeneous landscapes.
• Experience working with business stakeholders to define requirements and manage technical debt.
• Experience managing virtual teams and mentoring engineers.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, BIZBOK, DM-BOK or BIAN is desirable.
• Knowledge of modern development stacks including C#, .NET, .NET Core and front-end frameworks is required.
• All checks and clearances (background/security) must be clear prior to start.
