Job summary

Clinix Tshepo-Themba Private Hospital in Dobsonville/Soweto seeks a Unit Manager- Neonatal to plan, coordinate and oversee neonatal care operations, mentoring nursing staff and managing the unit budget. The role ensures 24/7 care for premature and ill newborns, along with cost-saving and stakeholder engagement.

Reporting to the Nursing Services Manager, you will supervise ward clerks, RNs, ENs and ENAs, drive service optimisation and deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Must hold a state-registered General Nurse qualification (BCur).
• PALS, NRR certifications required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Nursing Administration credentials or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, monitor, coordinate and oversee unit operations to ensure quality patient care.
• Mentor, coach and develop nursing staff; manage unit budget and cost saving.
• Supervise ward clerks, RNs, ENs and ENAs and drive service optimisation.
• Report, analyse and respond to patient experience feedback for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care approaches.
