Job summary

Codematch in Johannesburg East is seeking a Natural/ADABAS Developer to design, develop, maintain and enhance NATURAL/ADABAS-based software solutions across the full SDLC.

The role requires at least 5 years of NATURAL/ADABAS experience, strong knowledge of NATURAL, experience with Batch and Online processing, NATURALOne, EntireX, and Linux environments, plus relevant certifications or IT governance familiarity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
• Strong NATURAL / ADABAS experience.
• Experience with both BATCH and Online processing.
• Experience across all phases of systems development and implementation.
• Experience writing and maintaining technical documentation, instructions and procedure guides.
• Strong knowledge of the NATURAL programming language.
• Must have worked with NATURALOne.
• Exposure to EntireX.
• Experience developing software using NATURAL / ADABAS development tools in a Linux environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support existing NATURAL / ADABAS systems.
• Develop new applications throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Ensure adherence to standards, procedures and methodologies for application development and maintenance.
• Work independently from requirements and specifications.
• Maintain application software through coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
• Participate in activities that ensure the successful use of systems.
• Design, develop and implement application enhancements.
• Assist with application support and incident management.
• Provide documentation relating to enhancements and modifications.
• Assist with system integration and implementation.
• Provide user training where required.
• Assist with identifying procedures, processes and information flows required for system maintenance in line with business strategies and information requirements.

Position Overview

The Natural / ADABAS Developer is responsible for developing NATURAL / ADABAS-based software solutions, including the maintenance, enhancement and modification of existing software applications. The role involves evaluating business and technical requirements, conducting technical feasibility studies and analysing systems with the objective of designing, developing, documenting, implementing and enhancing application systems.

Minimum Experience

Minimum Requirements

• Valid, unendorsed driver's licence.
• Own vehicle.
• Understanding of IT governance is essential.
• Relevant industry knowledge is desirable.
