Job summary

FirstRand Bank Limited is seeking a Murex Specialist to own the full trade lifecycle from pricing to settlement and assess impacts on Market Risk, Finance, and Credit Risk. The role emphasizes continuous Murex platform development, enhancing current functionality, and delivering solutions for new business needs.

Ideal candidates will have a Computer Science/Engineering background, 3+ years in financial markets systems, and hands-on Murex/MX TEST experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, math, engineering or related field.
• ACI Dealing Certificate advantageous.
• 3+ years in implementing/supporting Financial Markets systems and interfaces.
• Experience with Murex platform and MX TEST preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and implement solutions across the trade lifecycle from pricing to settlement.
• Collaborate with traders and stakeholders to gather requirements and propose improvements.
• Configure/Develop Murex platform modules to meet business needs.
• Support risk, PnL and pricing analytics; assist with workflows and reporting.
• Prepare training materials and provide end-user training as needed.
• Coordinate testing to ensure solutions meet specifications.
• Engage with vendors and internal teams to resolve incidents and deliver changes.
