Job summary

AFMS Group is seeking a multi-skilled maintenance assistant to perform minor repairs, building fabric maintenance, and general facility upkeep across our site in Cape Town. The role involves reactive and preventive tasks, liaising with the helpdesk, and adhering to safety standards.

The candidate should have at least 2 years of built-environment maintenance experience, strong English/Afrikaans comprehension, and a valid Code B driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in a built environment
• Strong command of English and Afrikaans
• Code B driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Handle corrective, planned and preventative maintenance tasks
• Repair building fabric, carpentry and joinery as required
• Perform basic plumbing and electrical first-line maintenance
• Maintain housekeeping and tool registers; log calls at helpdesk
• Attend to client requests and communicate faults to FM
• Standby for repairs outside normal working hours
• Inspect facilities and report defects to manager
