Publicis Groupe Africa is offering a Multimedia Designer Intern position in Johannesburg, starting March 2027. You will work across social platforms, translating concepts into motion and static visuals while learning from industry professionals.

The role focuses on design across channels, time management, and collaboration, with a strong emphasis on creativity, digital trends, and human-centered design. Portfolio required.

Qualifications

• Currently completing or recently completed a Diploma, Degree or Higher Certificate in Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Digital Design, Visual Communication, Animation, Motion Design or a related creative field.
• Foundational working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro.
• Basic understanding of graphic design, animation, motion graphics, video editing and digital/social media content.
• A portfolio or student body of work demonstrating creative thinking and design ability.
• An understanding of design principles, typography, composition, colour and visual storytelling.
• An interest in social media, digital trends, emerging technologies and South African popular culture.
• Exposure to 3D animation or production would be advantageous but is not essential.
• No previous agency experience required.

Responsabilités

• Design social media and digitally led creative, utilizing animation and digital design best practices with a good technical understanding for outputting files in the correct format.
• Work methodically and according to brief and brand specifications.
• Break down brief requirements and timeously flag any issues that may arise.
• Create presentation decks to showcase work.
• Collect and file artwork correctly for archiving and handovers.
