Job summary

Accor is seeking a Cluster General Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for Mercure Johannesburg Bedfordview, Midrand, Randburg, and Nelspruit. You will drive growth, lead the Executive Committee, and ensure exceptional guest experiences across four properties.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in hotel leadership within an international brand, a strong financial background, and a passion for developing talent while upholding Accor’s brand standards.

Qualifications

• Must be a South African national.
• Bachelor's or higher in Hospitality Management or Business Administration.
• 8–10 years of progressive leadership in hotel operations, GM/Cluster GM experience in an international brand.
• Strong commercial acumen with a proven revenue growth and profitability track record.
• Led multi-functional teams with high performance, accountability and engagement.
• Excellent financial management including budgeting, forecasting, P&L and cost control.
• Extensive knowledge of Rooms, F&B, Sales & Marketing, Revenue Management, Finance, People & Culture.
• Able to develop and execute strategic business plans while delivering operational excellence and guest experiences.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with hotel owners, asset managers, and corporate offices is desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and overall leadership for the operations of Mercure Johannesburg Bedfordview, Midrand, Randburg, and Nelspruit.
• Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share through commercial and operational strategies.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Executive Committee and hotel leadership teams.
• Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by maintaining high service quality and brand compliance.
• Oversee financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and objectives.
• Build strong relationships with owners, corporate offices, authorities, partners and the local community.
• Champion employee engagement, inclusion, safety and development aligned with Accor values.
• Ensure full regulatory, health, safety, security and policy compliance.
• Identify opportunities for efficiencies and synergies across hotels while preserving brand positioning.
• Represent hotels in the local market and expand strategic partnerships.
