Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Mobile Developer (Android) for a contract position in Cape Town. The role requires a tertiary IT-related qualification and at least 5 years of Android development experience, with strong UI design knowledge and familiarity with Agile, TDD, and rapid release cycles.

You will design, develop, test, and deploy Android applications, document code, create prototypes, and coordinate with the team and clients within the SDLC/ALM framework.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as an Android developer.
• Knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices for natural user interfaces.
• Familiarity with Agile, test-driven development and rapid release cycles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy programs per specifications.
• Construct and implement application programs.
• Code, test and debug programs.
• Ensure documentation of code/classes.
• Design application prototypes.
• Coordinate application plans with development team or clients.

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science and/or Software Engineering and/or Information Systems and/or Information Technology and/or related technical certificate in an IT field
• Minimum of 5 years experience as an Android developer
• Knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices and the ability to design applications around natural user interface
• A familiarity with Agile, test-driven development and rapid release cycle
