Job summary

EXCELLENCE IN PGM's in Limpopo is seeking a candidate to perform face observations to measure compliance with mining instructions. The role requires a Grade 12 or NQF 4 and a COM Basic Valuation Certificate, plus a medical certificate eligibility.

The successful incumbent will gather information, obtain entry permissions, determine observation locations, and record geological data while using the MRM system to capture observations and produce stope plots.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent is essential.
• COM Basic Valuation Certificate is essential.
• A valid medical certificate or medically fit to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Gathers information pertaining to the Observation/Sampling requirements.
• Obtains permission to enter the workplace and notifies personnel of Observation/Sampling activities.
• Determines the precise location of Observation/Sampling area.
• Orientates measurements using Survey pegs.
• Places tape along the face and observes the face at predetermined intervals.
• Records rock types in the face at the observation points and records any geological anomalies (dykes, faults, slips, etc.).
• Measures the 3m width, pre-sweeping depth and ore-remaining depth.
• Measures position of sweepings and height of gullies.
• Captures Observation data onto the MRM system.
• Produces Stope Plots.
