Samancor Chrome Ltd. in Burgersfort, Limpopo, seeks a site supervisor to ensure cost-efficient mining execution and compliance with MHSA and Minerals Act requirements. You will lead a team to achieve mining and quality targets on a field site.

Key duties include enforcing SHEQ via toolbox practices and IMS reporting, maintaining labour stability, coaching talent, and ensuring customer satisfaction while managing costs and performance across mining activities.

Responsabilidades

• SHEQ: Ensure SHEQ compliance within the Team through effective use of the Toolbox.
• SHEQ: Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status.
• People: Maintain labour stability by minimising labour turnover.
• People: Manage labour complement in line with budget.
• People: Manage performance against set targets and competencies.
• People: Ensure IDP’s linked to performance results and implemented as per plan.
• People: Conduct career discussions and actions with identified talent (quarterly).
• People: Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.).
• People: Coach and counsel people to improve performance.
• People: Conduct recruitment interviews.
• Customers: Ensure Customer Satisfaction.
• Mining: Inspect all workings in area of responsibility as required by MHSA.
• Mining: Inspect every working face blasted within 48 hrs.
• Mining: Inspect all other workings (not blasted) at least weekly (≤10 days).
• Mining: Daily during shift inspect all miners under charge to ensure safety.
• Mining: Record findings in the logbook.
• Mining: Ensure adequate material is available for safe production.
• Mining: Measure blasted panels and plot on survey plan.
• Tactical Planning: Monitor and control the Tactical Plan.
• Tactical Planning: Achieve Mining Budget.
• Shareholder Value: Monitor and control section costs.

To supervise the cost-effective execution of all mining work ensuring the achievement of mining and quality targets and to ensure compliance of provisions of the Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act and its Regulations.

Job Responsibilities

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

• Ensure SHEQ compliance within the Team through effective use of the Toolbox
• Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status

• Ensure an enabling climate/culture
• Maintain labour stability by minimising labour turnover
• Labour complement in line with budget
• Manage performance against set targets and competencies
• Ensure IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
• Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
• Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
• Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
• Conduct recruitment interviews

Customers

• Ensure Customer Satisfaction

Mining

BUSINESS PROCESSES:

• Inspect all workings in area of responsibility as frequently as may be deemed necessary by the Mine Health and Safety Act
• Inspect every working face blasted within 48 hrs
• Inspect all other workings (not blasted) at least once a week at intervals not exceeding 10 days
• Daily during shift inspection visit all miners under his charge and satisfy himself that work is proceeding safely under every mine section
• Record findings in the logbook
• Ensure adequate material is available for safe production.
• Measure blasted panels and plot on survey plan.

Tactical Planning

• Monitor and control the Tactical Plan
• Achieve Mining Budget
