Job summary

AGC Mining Recruitment Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Construction Manager for a Fixed-Term contract in the Northern Cape. You will lead all construction activities, ensure effective planning, scheduling, and flawless on-site execution to meet project milestones.

The ideal candidate holds a National Diploma or Bachelor's in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, with advanced certifications (PMP/CCM) preferred, and at least 8 years in mining, especially mineral processing.

Qualifications

• National Diploma / Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced degrees or professional certifications (PMP, CCM) are advantageous.
• At least 8 years of mining experience, specifically in the mineral processing industry.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align with goals and timelines.
• Oversee daily on-site operations, ensuring adherence to specifications and plans.
• Manage construction personnel, subcontractors, and vendors per safety standards and contracts.
• Allocate resources (manpower, materials, equipment) to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols for a safe working environment.
• Conduct inspections and tests to verify material/workmanship compliance.
• Address and rectify quality issues promptly and effectively.
• Oversee budgets and control costs, including expenditures and financial tracking.
• Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules to meet milestones.
• Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.

Education

National Diploma / Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field

Advanced degrees or professional certifications (PMP, CCM) advantageous
