Job summary

PPC Recruitment seeks a Plant Engineer for a mining operation in the North West. The role implements engineering strategies, ensures MHSA and company compliance, and promotes safe, efficient plant operation to meet production targets.

The position oversees equipment maintenance, asset management and continuous improvement, coordinating with maintenance teams to minimise downtime and drive plant performance.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (NQF4) is required.
• National Diploma or BSc/BEng/B-Tech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Government Certificate of Competency (Mines and Works) is required.
• 5 years’ experience as an engineer, with at least 3 years in plant management or mining engineering.
• Experience with MS Dynamics F&O and MS Power BI reporting tools.
• Must be medically fit.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day plant operations and ensure machinery runs efficiently to meet production targets.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and extend asset life.
• Drive continuous improvement to improve plant performance and asset care management.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams and cross-functional units for procurement, installation of new equipment, and capacity expansion.
• Monitor compliance with safety, regulatory and company standards (MHSA) and prepare risk mitigation actions.
