Placements24 is partnering with a leading law firm in Kimberley to recruit a Mining Law Specialist. The role focuses on advising on prospecting rights, mining licenses, environmental compliance, and community relations within the Northern Cape.

The successful candidate will draft mining agreements, support regulatory filings, and provide strategic advisory across mining sector matters, including disputes and regulatory proceedings in Kimberley.

Qualifications

• Admitted attorney with at least 7 years of mining law experience.
• Expert knowledge of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA) and environmental law.
• Experience advising mining companies on regulatory matters and transactions.
• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Excellent understanding of South Africa's mining industry's legal framework.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on mining law and related legislation.
• Assist clients with applications for prospecting rights, mining permits, and environmental authorizations.
