Job summary

Kabstrading Co in Cape Town is seeking skilled welders/boilermakers to fabricate, weld, repair and maintain mining equipment and structures. You will read and interpret engineering drawings, measure and cut materials, and perform various welding processes to ensure integrity and alignment of plant components.

Responsibilities include installation support, alignment checks, and inspection of equipment for defects.

Responsibilities

• Perform fabrication, welding and boilermaking activities on mining equipment and structures.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on plant equipment, chutes, hoppers, conveyors, pipelines and structural components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams and fabrication specifications.
• Measure, mark, cut, bend and shape steel and other materials according to specifications.
• Carry out MIG, TIG, arc and/or CO welding as required.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on structural steelwork and mechanical components.
• Assist with the installation, modification and alignment of plant and equipment.
• Inspect equipment and structures to identify defects, damage and potential failures.
