Job summary

Ikwezi Mining is seeking an Aircon Technician to maintain and repair air-conditioning systems on mining machinery. You will work on-site and in the workshop, with responsibilities spanning diagnosis, service reports, and field support during dispatches.

The role requires proven experience with industrial or mining HVAC systems, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work flexible shifts across sites. English literacy is essential for communication and safety."

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 Certificate is required.
• English literacy is essential.
• Post matric qualification / N3 is preferred.
• Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Technician on industrial/mining equipment.
• Relevant tertiary training or certificates would be advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Proven field service experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.

Responsibilities

• Conduct repair and service work on site and in the workshop.
• Machine assessments and complete job cards.
• Repair and replace compressors, fans, motors, and refrigerants.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Provide service and customer support during field visits.
• Tie workflow to schedule.
• Manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine solutions.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports.
• Operate vehicle safely and use field automation systems.
• Follow all field procedures and protocols.
• Co-operate with the technical team and share information across the organization.
