Job summary

Placements24 invites applications for a Mine Surveyor position in Welkom. The role involves surveying surface and underground works, mapping underground voids, and ensuring precise positioning of drilling and production activities.

You will work with engineers and geologists to provide spatial data for planning and operations, using Total Stations, GPS, and laser scanning equipment. A Professional registration is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor in a mining environment.
• Strong understanding of mining methods and their spatial requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in challenging underground and surface conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all types of mine surveys, including surface, underground, and stockpile surveys, using Total Stations, GPS, and laser scanning equipment.
• Accurately map underground workings, establishing control points and monitoring mine deformation.
• Calculate and verify volumes of ore, waste, and other materials extracted or placed.
• Maintain mine survey records, plans, and digital databases according to company and regulatory standards.
