Placements24 in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking a Mine Surveyor to lead surface and underground surveying, maintain mine control points, and produce accurate mine plans. You will work with engineers, geologists, and planners to provide critical spatial data for safe and efficient operations.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Mine Surveying with 4+ years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/Vulcan/Surpac, GPS/GNSS, and laser scanners, and a valid driver's license.

• Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying, Geomatics or related field.
• Professional registration with a relevant body (e.g., PLATO) is highly desirable.
• Minimum 4 years of practical Mine Surveyor experience in a mining environment.
• Proficiency in mine surveying software (AutoCAD, Vulcan, Surpac, TBC) and total station operation.
• Experience with GPS/GNSS technology and laser scanning equipment.
• Strong understanding of mining methods and surveying principles for underground/open-pit work.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; good communication and teamwork.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work in Richards Bay area.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct surface and underground surveys to establish control points and monitor mine workings.
• Perform volumetric calculations for ore and waste, and monitor stockpile inventories.
• Prepare and update mine plans, cross-sections, and survey reports using CAD software.
• Ensure accurate setting out of mine infrastructure including roads, tunnels, and production areas.
• Operate and maintain surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS receivers, and laser scanners.
• Liaise with mine planners, engineers, and geologists to provide timely survey data.
• Calibrate and verify survey equipment regularly to ensure accuracy.
• Adhere to mine safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Assist in implementing new surveying technologies and methodologies.

About the Role
