Placements24 is seeking a diligent Mine Surveyor for our client in Benoni, Gauteng. You will conduct underground and surface surveys, process data, and produce mine plans, sections, and models to support planning and compliance in a busy mining operation.

Based on-site, you will establish survey controls, monitor workings, calculate volumes, and collaborate with engineers, geologists, and production teams. A relevant degree, professional registration, and 5+ years in underground mining are

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
• Professional registration with a relevant body (e.g., South African Geomatics Council).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably in underground mining.
• Proficiency in surveying software (Leica, Trimble) and CAD software (AutoCAD, Deswik CAD).
• Experience with total stations, GPS, laser scanners, and drone surveying.
• Familiarity with South African mining regulations related to surveying.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a diligent and skilled Mine Surveyor to ensure the accurate measurement, mapping, and management of our mining areas, both surface and underground. This role is essential for maintaining operational integrity, supporting mine planning, and ensuring compliance with spatial regulations. The Mine Surveyor will be responsible for undertaking surveys, processing data, and producing accurate plans and reports.
