Placements24 near Paarl is seeking an experienced Mine Planner to develop and optimize short-, medium-, and long-term open-pit mine plans. Translate geological models into practical designs while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

You will collaborate with surveyors, engineers and geologists to create executable plans, with at least 5 years of experience and proficiency in major planning software.

Qualifications

• BSc or BEng in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in mine planning, open pit focus.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Planner with expertise in open pit operations to join their strategic planning team near Paarl . This role is responsible for developing and optimizing short, medium, and long-term mine plans to ensure efficient extraction of resources while maximizing economic value and adhering to safety and environmental constraints. You will work closely with surveyors, engineers, and geologists to translate geological models and economic parameters into practical, executable mine designs. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in mine planning software, and a deep understanding of open-pit mining principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and updating short, medium, and long-term mine plans for open pit operations.
• Optimizing mine sequences, pit designs, and production schedules to meet targets.
