Job summary

University of Fort Hare seeks a skilled Millwright for water treatment maintenance in Mpumalanga. You will maintain and troubleshoot large electrical and mechanical installations and work on advanced control systems, including SCADA/PLC.

The ideal candidate has a qualified Millwright or Electrician background, valid 13/26D cert, and a 3-phase Wireman’s license preferred or in progress, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Qualified Millwright or Electrician with completed apprenticeship or equivalent training
• Valid Section 13 or Section 26D certificate
• Wireman’s License (3‑phase) preferred, or currently studying towards
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in maintenance of large electrical and mechanical installations
• Strong electrical background with proven ability to troubleshoot accurately and efficiently
• Experience with SCADA and PLC control systems, as well as field control instrumentation (5 years preferred, advantageous)
