Job summary

CBI-electric Group is seeking a qualified Millwright to ensure reliable operation of mechanical and electrical equipment across our plant. The role covers installation, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs to support safe, continuous production.

Applicants should have Matric, a trade-tested Millwright certification, and at least 5 years post-trade experience in heavy industry, with knowledge of OHASA/SABS and electrical regulations.

Qualifications

• Matric and relevant trade qualification required.
• N3 or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Trade-tested Millwright with Section 13/26D.
• Minimum 5 years of post-trade experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing.
• Sound knowledge of OHASA, SABS and electrical/mechanical regulations.
• Experience with air conditioning units, LV switchgear and UPS systems.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Electrical and mechanical maintenance of the plant and buildings.
• Installation and repair of machinery per safety and industry regulations.
• Maintenance of LT electrical articulation and air conditioning systems.
• Repair and servicing of UPS systems, emergency generators, switchgear, and LV equipment.
• Adhere to safety protocols and professional standards at all times.
• Perform emergency repairs and attend service calls across company premises.
• Travel for inter-provincial installations or repairs when required.
• Assist with production processes when instructed.
• Stay up-to-date with technical and statutory regulations.

The Millwright is responsible for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of all mechanical and electrical equipment by performing installations, inspections, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs to support safe, continuous, and uninterrupted plant operations.
