Job summary

Talbot (Pty) Ltd. in Uitenhage is seeking a qualified Millwright to support sustainable water initiatives. The role covers onsite mechanical and electrical maintenance, fault finding and repair on equipment, and assisting with commissioning of water and wastewater plants.

You will perform breakdown repairs, housekeeping across sites, and work with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate has a recognized Millwright apprenticeship, PLC/VSD exposure, and a safety‑minded approach.

Qualifications

• Qualified Millwright with apprenticeship and trade test.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in related field.
• Mechanical experience on water treatment infrastructure (UF, RO, DAF, pumps).
• Electrical experience on control panels, PLCs and motors.
• Basic MS Office applications and OSH Act understanding.
• Driver’s Licence; N3 Water/Wastewater advantageous.

Job description

We are looking for a Millwright who aligns to our business drivers to support our ambition in activating the transition to sustainable water.

The successful candidate would be based in Uitenhage involved in onsite mechanical and electrical maintenance, fault finding & repair on equipment, assistance with commissioning of water and wastewater plants, breakdowns, and housekeeping across our operational sites.

Qualifications

• Qualified Millwright (recognised apprenticeship and trade test).
• At least 3 years’ experience.
• Mechanical experience on water treatment infrastructure such as UF. RO, DAF, blowers, and various types of pumps.
• Electrical experience on electrical control panels, industrial electronics, PLC, VSD and various types of motors.
• Basic MS Office applications.
• A sound understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSH Act).
• Driver’s License.
• N3: Water and Wastewater would be advantageous.
