Job summary

Trouw Nutrition South Africa is seeking an experienced Millwright/Maintenance Technician for our manufacturing operation in South Africa. You will own the reliability and performance of plant equipment, using mechanical and electrical expertise to minimise downtime and support production teams.

Responsibilities include maintenance, installation, testing, fault diagnosis and preventive maintenance, with a focus on safety and efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent / N3 is required.
• Recognised Millwright Trade Test.
• At least 5 years' experience as a Millwright in manufacturing.
• Experience with PLCs and AC drives.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Good English communication; local SA language is a plus.
• Willingness to work shifts, standby and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant equipment to required standards and respond to production needs.
• Assemble, install and test machinery for safe operation.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and flag potential failures.
• Investigate root causes of major breakdowns and support actions.
• Identify critical spare parts to minimise downtime.
• Assist with safe equipment layout and placement in the plant.
• Develop training material and support operators.
• Work with LOTOTO, permits and supervision.
• Move components with forklifts when needed.
• Participate in shifts, standby, overtime and call-outs.
