Morton Moore is recruiting on behalf of an established steel manufacturing company based in Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal, seeking a qualified Millwright to join the new plant maintenance team. The role covers electrical and mechanical maintenance across production equipment.

You will perform planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance, diagnose faults in electro-mechanical systems, install and commission new machinery, and work with production and engineering to improve reliability.

Qualificações

• Trade Tested / Red Seal Millwright.
• 3–5 years' post-trade experience in industrial/manufacturing.
• Experience in steel, foundry or heavy engineering preferred.
• Strong fault-finding across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of VSDs, PLCs and control circuits.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience advantageous.
• Understanding of OHS Act and safe working practices.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, standby and weekends.
• Valid driver's licence, clear criminal record and medical screening ability.

Responsabilidades

• Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems as part of routine maintenance.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out, permit-to-work and PPE procedures.
• Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately.
• Collaborate with production/engineering to improve equipment reliability.
• Be available for shift work, standby and emergency call-outs.

Job Description

Our client, an established steel manufacturing company based in Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal, is looking for a qualified Millwright to join its new plant maintenance team. The successful candidate will handle both electrical and mechanical maintenance across the plant's production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Minimum 3–5 years' post-trade experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in steel, foundry, heavy engineering or a similar heavy industrial environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong fault-finding skills across both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Working knowledge of VSDs, PLCs and industrial control circuits.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience is advantageous.
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and safe working practices.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, standby and weekends.
• Valid driver's licence, clear criminal record and ability to pass a medical assessment.
