Job summary

SCallaghan in Durban is seeking an experienced Millwright to join a busy, high-speed manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills and a proven ability to keep high-speed equipment running efficiently.

The role requires a trade qualification, post-trade experience, and willingness to work shifts and attend callouts. Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems and readings of technical drawings is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Millwright / Electromechanician trade qualification.
• Matric / N3 Certificate or equivalent.
• Min. 3 years' post-trade experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with industrial electronics, VSDs, motors and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Good working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic drawings.
• Mechanical fitting experience.
• Experience within a high-speed manufacturing environment advantageous.
• Able to work shifts and attend callouts when required.
• Able to work at heights.
• Good computer skills.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Are you a qualified Millwright with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills & experience keeping high-speed manufacturing equipment running efficiently? SCallaghan is looking for an experienced, hands-on Millwright for an established manufacturing operation in Durban.

This role will suit a technically strong Millwright who's good with both electrical and mechanical equipment, enjoys fault-finding and can keep things running in a busy production environment.

Requirements

• Qualified Millwright / Electromechanician Trade Qualification.
